Our Story
Carmar® was founded in 2013 by husband and wife team John and Sarah Carmichael. The couple shared a passion for casual, relaxed fashion that looked great but felt amazing. John worked in fashion design and retail for over a decade, while Sarah managed production and sourcing at a major clothing manufacturer.
Together, they saw an opportunity to create a new denim brand focused on premium fabrics, flattering fits, and total comfort. After months of research, design, and testing, Carmar® was born.
We started small, offering just a few styles of jean shorts and boyfriend jeans. But as word spread about our buttery soft fabrics and perfect fits, we rapidly expanded into a full line of casual bottoms. Everything we make embodies our core values:

Our size range runs from 00 to 20 to accommodate petite to curvy figures. Stretch fabric and strategic seaming ensure each pair flatters your shape. If you typically struggle to find bottoms that fit well through the hip and thighs, our Boyfriend Jeans are designed just for you. The relaxed fit provides extra room while maintaining an elegant silhouette.

Responsible Production
While fit and comfort are our top priorities, sustainability isn’t far behind. We’re committed to responsible production practices that reduce our environmental impact.
Our denim mills recycle 98% of their water using innovative purification methods. We use Ozone Technology to give jeans a worn-in look, reducing water waste associated with sandblasting or hand sanding. Our fabrics also integrate recycled polyester, organic cotton, and other sustainable materials.
We’ve partnered with factories that share our values around ethical working conditions and environmental stewardship. By producing locally in Southern California, we can ensure fair labor practices while reducing our carbon footprint.

Once we’ve selected the perfect fabric, we wash it using advanced methods. Each wash is specially designed to ensure the right amount of fade while enhancing the denim’s natural luster.
